Seems a deceased author wrote a short book called "Willy the Wizard" back in 1984. His name was Adrian Jacobs and now his foundation is claiming J.K. Lamentation, by Ken Scholes seems to have the feel I'm looking for for a steam punk continent. i don't know if his is, but I like the flavor of the first chapter.
